Useful Files for Children
This term we are thinking about what happens 'if you go down to the woods today.'
We have been retelling the story of the Gruffalo. We have been describing the Gruffalo and thinking about what he might say to the other animals. Outside, we have followed Gruffalo footprints, made dens and thought about where different animals might live. In the mud kitchen, the children made mouse cakes, roasted fox and Gruffalo crumble.
In maths, we are learning to add and take away using Numicon, counters, number lines or our fingers. Most children now recognise numbers to twenty and they are trying to make sure that they always count accurately. Any practise that they can do at home with counting and number recognition would be helpful.
We can't wait to find out who we are going to meet in the woods next week....
In Reception this term, we have been busy learning about light and dark. We started off by creating firework pictures and poetry and we also learned the story of Rama and Sita. We have been finding out about nocturnal animals and their habitats. We are going to be busy practising our singing and dancing for the Christmas play. We hope you are looking forward to seeing our performance.
