NMPAT

We are very fortunate in having such a brilliant County Music service and our children are welcome to join in NMPAT Daventry Centre. We meet each Saturday from 9.30 until 12.30 for musical fun and the chance to play in groups and ensembles. No experience is necessary and it is open to all children from 3-18 years.

Our County groups also offer yearly auditions for our more advanced players.

We also offer the opportunity to take grades examinations in music through our NMPAT peripatetic teaching.

At The Grange School, we are proud of our strong links with Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT). We work closely with NMPAT to offer a wide range of musical opportunities for children:

Strings- Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass,

Brass- Trumpet, Cornet, Bass

Woodwind- Recorder, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe

Keyboard and Piano

Percussion- Drums

Peripatetic teaching carries a termly charge.

In addition to this, we offer some free instrument tuition. All Year 3 children learn a stringed instrument as part of the Government’s First Access project. This covers a terms teaching but we extend and fund it for a whole school year. It is lead by our NMPAT colleagues.

Similarly, Year 1 have an opportunity to learn the recorder as a class for a term. Both projects include a performance to parents to show confidence, achievement and progress.

School also has a cello club which is open to anyone who is interested in playing. No experience is necessary.

We also have a string band for intermediate players who perform at the Derngate School’s Festival.

For all instrument tuition, instruments will be provided.
