Our School Policies

School policies cover every aspect of school life. As a maintained school, some of our policies are dictated by Northamptonshire County Council and are updated by them, but more regularly reviewed by our school members. Other policies are created by us to reflect and guide the beliefs, ethos and practices within our school.

Policies address the practical implications of how to achieve the school's vision and are a key means of ensuring that agreed values underpin day-to-day decisions and actions in our school. They are concerned with key processes within school and are about interactions between school, pupils, parents and community.  They are about ensuring highly effective teaching and learning, about safety and about basic human rights.

Some policies are statutory and have government guidelines around their implementation. All policies at The Grange are intended to guide the work of the Head Teacher and the staff, to provide a framework for the smooth functioning of our school based on a shared understanding of the school's strategic plan and vision.

Policies are arranged into distinct categories and links to these categories can be found above.

Our policies are reviewed at a variety of intervals, ranging from 1 to 3 years. Of course, should the need arise, a policy can be reviewed before its next scheduled review date. A variety of community members review our policies and all are ratified by either the Head Teacher, a single Governor, a Governors' Sub-Committee or the Full Governing Body.

If you want to know our policy on something that is not listed, or paper copies of any documents, please ask the school office. For details of our use of the Pupil Premium Grant and Sports Premium Funding, please click on these specific pages.
